What is the U.S. business mileage rate for 2026?
The IRS optional business mileage rate is $0.725 per mile from January 1 through June 30, 2026 and $0.76 per mile from July 1 through December 31, 2026. The calculator uses the trip date to select the applicable period. See IRS Announcement 2026-11.
What units does the calculator use?
Distance is entered and displayed in miles for the United States and United Kingdom and in kilometers for all other countries, including Canada.
Why does the UK show a passengers field?
The United Kingdom includes an uplift of £0.05 per additional business passenger per mile. The passengers field appears only when the country is set to the United Kingdom.
Why does France ask for engine horsepower (CV)?
France uses fiscal horsepower (CV). Some bands include an additional fixed amount that appears as a separate line in the estimate.
Do you convert currencies?
No. Totals are shown in the currency defined for the selected country. No foreign-exchange conversion is performed.
Does the calculator handle multi‑band split calculations?
This estimator chooses the applicable rate band using the entered distance and assumes year-to-date business distance is 0. Use your organization’s policy or expense system when cumulative annual distance changes the applicable rate.
Is this calculator connected to a server or storing my data?
The calculator runs in your browser. The calculator code does not submit your country or distance entries to a server.
